TOUR 1:
LAKE CHIEMSEE AND CITY OF SALZBURG: (11 hours)
You leave at aproximately 9:00 in the morning and drive around 90 kilometers (60 miles) southeast of Munich to the valley of CHIEMGAU and there to a beautifull small port on the lake CHIEMSEE, called MARKT PRIEN. We take a ship with stops at two islands: FRAUENINSEL and HERRENCHIEMSEE.
At the main island you visit the fabulous palace of HERRENCHIEMSEE. To get to the palace you go either by a horsecarriage or take a 20min walk through a nice green forest to the palace site.
At the palace we take a guided tour visiting the individual rooms of the huge building, including some of KING LUDWIG II´s modern technical innovations.
On the way back to port we stop at the other island, without leaving the ship.
The tour continues to SALZBURG on another 50 kilometers (aprox. 30 miles) and we have lunch before or while visiting the "CITY of MOZART" in AUSTRIA.
On the way to the historic center of SALZBURG, we might stop at the famous "HANGAR 7", a modern private and exclusive museum of airplanes, helicopters and racing cars, owned by the RED BULL company owner. Even the ladies will like it, we promise..but it is your option.
We continue to the city center of Salzburg and will see the birthplace from W.A. MOZART and his own house, where he lived. We might have lunch at the oldest restaurant still functioning, opened in the 17th century, or at the top of the montain while visiting the fortress HOHENSALZBURG.
On your way to the fortress you will cross the complete downtown area with amazing shops and restaurants. We will have a peek into the Cathedral and see several interesting historical buildings like the Kings Residence or the fountain where JULIE ANDREWS sang with the family Trapp girls in the famous movie "The sounds of music".
At around 7 PM we will start the return and we will be back in Munich at aprox. 8 PM.
